German Pforzheim 1915 Art Deco Guilloché Enameled Box In .935 Sterling Silver

A guilloche enameled round box with flowers Beautiful enameled box, created in Pforzheim Germany, during the art deco period back in the 1915-20 This beautiful box was carefully crafted with impeccable details in solid .935/.999 standard silver with gilded interiors finish. Designed in a rectangular shape with chamfered corners and fitted with ten barrels hinged lid, which is raised by a simple thumbpiece in the front. Decorated with engine turned guilloché, which is topped with applications of translucent vivid blue and polychromed enamel. In the center in a circular frame, it is decorated with a romantic scene of two seated ladies and a standing man playing a lute. Weight: 58.3 Grams, (37.48 Dwt). Measurements: 80 mm by 41 mm by 12 mm (3.15 x 1.62 by 0.47 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with German export marks for the assay of the .935 sterling silver. Guilloché Is a term used in fine jewelry or objects de Vertu to enhance the appearance of boxes, frames, brooches, rings or pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry pouch. Condition: The overall condition of this box is very good. Beside the little normal wear, there is no trace of wear to the silver.
