The surface of this antique box is plain and retains the original gilding. This antique tobacco box retains the original push fit cover embellished with an impressive shield shaped cartouche displaying the crest of a bull below the engraved name 'F Daw'. The surface of the cover is further ornamented with impressive bright cut engraved floral festoon and ribbon bow designs. The rim of the cover is encompassed with a thread decorated border.     In many, many years of dealing in antique boxes, I have never come across a Sheraton spoon box such as this. Similar to larger Knife Boxes, this is the same shape but in a smaller scale and the interior fitted purely for teaspoons. Veneered in Mahogany the shaped sloped lid is inlaid with an Ebony and Boxwood star, repeated on the interior of the lid. The fully fitted interior is also inlaid with Ebony and Boxwood stringing.
