Mid-18th Century Hand Painted Traditional Swedish Pine Chest

About the Item

Mid-18th century hand painted traditional Swedish chest/box, circa 1750. Stunning traditional Swedish box hand painted in the original paintwork. Decorated on all sides with swags in russet red/grey and yellow's. Complete with original hinges, handles and lock. Lid opens to reveal it is painted on the inside, complete with a fitted shelf. Obvious losses to paintwork due to age, expected surface marks and minor shrinkage. No key.
