Smedien Danish Art Deco Enamel Sailing Boats Inlaid Bronze Box
About the Item
An unusual and stylish Danish Bronze box mounted with an enamel plaque with sailing boats marked Smedien and dating from around 1930. The rectangular shaped quality box is heavily made, the lower compartment lined with wood. With overlapping base and cover the box is simply constructed in bronze the hinged cover inset with an enamel panel hand crafted with two sailing ships with an indistinct monogram to the lower right corner. The box is impressed SMEDIEN BRONZE to the base.
In good original condition with wear associated with age and use.
