About the Item
A burl wood and Chrome box designed by Tommaso Barbi in the 1970s. This original design by Barbi was made in Italy. The lid of the box is burl wood featuring pieces of chrome on top, the bottom of the box is chrome. It’s stamped ‘made in Italy’ at the bottom. Along with the Tommaso Barbi ‘Tb’ engraving.
The burl wood is in good condition with minor signs of wear and the chrome has some wear and surface scratches.
Tommaso Barbi was an Italian designer, who studied art and design in Florence, Milan, and Rome. His work was often defined by his use of a variety of high quality materials. He was well known for his lighting fixture and furniture designs. Barbi’s attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship is evident in his work.
