Tommaso Barbi Burlwood And Chrome Ashtray Dish Made in Italy

About the Item

A burl wood and Chrome ashtray dish designed by Tommaso Barbi in the 1970s. This original design by Barbi was made in Italy. While it was designed to be an ashtray, it can be used as a dish or trinket. The rounded chrome of the piece sits perfectly in the square shaped Burl base. The burl wood is in good condition with minor signs of wear and the chrome has some discolouration and surface scratches. Tommaso Barbi was an Italian designer, who studied art and design in Florence, Milan, and Rome. His work was often defined by his use of a variety of high quality materials. He was well known for his lighting fixture and furniture designs. Barbi’s attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship is evident in his work.
