Antique Asian Export Silver Cigarette Case with Battlescene
About the Item
A fine entirely handcrafted antique cigarette case with a gilded interior. Its front depicts a battle scene where the warriors, presumably Chinese Gods, wears mythological masks. We believe one of them is of Kailu or Kaishan. The details to the dramatic lid is executed meticulously. Take a look at the warriors garments/uniforms or the ground the battle is taking place on. As for the 'ground' we believe a markers mark and/or hallmark is hidden somewhere within (possibly below the resting foot of the warrior to the right). The case has acid-tested to being at least 800/1000 silver. It was made in the 19th Century in Asia, probably China. Measurements: 9x7x2 cm.
