About the Item

A fine 18th century antique Georgian engraved sterling silver gilt toothpick or table snuff box, London, 1797. The box is finely engraved on all sides, with floral/foliate designs, the hinged lid opens to a gilded interior, the are a full set of hallmarks stamped to the inner base, London 1797 and a single stamp to the inner upper with with the "lion passant" mark for sterling silver. The lid has an open cartouche, that is free from an engraved monogram or name, condition is excellent, the lid opens and closes tightly & with ease, silver weight is 60 Grams. A very fine antique Georgian sterling silver gilt toothpick case, London, 1797.
