Charming snuff tobacco box, dog, animal, Bernhard Bloch, 1880s, Bohemia Austria

About the Item

Very magnificent glazed ceramic tobacco box, an original from the end of the 19th century, by Bernhard Bloch, from Bohemia / Austria. The box is wonderfully elaborated with a base that has a lot of baroque décor and a lid on which a dog is enthroned. The animal figure is very detailed and very charming. The box can be set up freely, as it is perfectly designed from all sides and can be used for all kind of things, not necessarily for tobacco. Measurements approx.: height 11,02 in - 28 cm, width 5,51 in - 14 cm, depth 4,72 in - 12 cm It is an extremely decorative box, in wonderful condition, an original from the time around 1880/90. Bernhard Bloch is a renowned ceramic manufacturer and a dreamlike collector's item.
