GUILLOCHE ENAMEL AND SILVER GILT
From our collectables category, we are delighted to offer this incredible quality Italian Mid-Century Modern Silver and Enamel Box. The Silver and Enamel Box of slim rectangular form of striking green and black colour with mounted in solid silver with silver gilt. The exterior of the box features a green guilloche enamel panels with clear waved patterns within the green enamel bordered by a black enamel to the lid and silver gilt mounts finished with a long thumb tab to the front. The interior of the Box features a beautifully preserved silver gilt interior with a subtle plain finish. The Italian Silver and Enamel Box is hallmarked Italian silver 925 by Franco Salimbeni 1979 ( FL 391 star) very much inspired by the Art Deco era.

The company have supplied Tiffany, Cartier and Gucci over their 130 year history and still produce highly sought after enamel work using traditional methods today.
ENAMEL
(vitreous enamel) also known as porcelain enamel, is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 °C. The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating. The word vitreous comes from the Latin vitreous, meaning “glassy”.
925 SILVER
refers to the silver content out of 1000, there fore 925 is 925/1000 finess which matches sterling silver in the UK.
