About the Item

Pastoral box. Pole. Spanish school, 19th century. Box made of antler carved in its color, rectangular in shape with an oval base, which opens towards the middle of it, fitting one part into the other. The exterior presents an engraved decoration of simplified plant motifs in the upper and lower areas, several bands of lines and, in the part that acts as the base, an inscription (Francisco Bermejo) surely allusive to the owner on a figurative composition (a human head, birds perched on one side and a wild boar passing through on the other. These types of boxes, of popular tradition, were common in ancient times and were usually made by shepherds or ranchers themselves to store snuff or tobacco. · Size: 7x3x9 cms International Buyers – Please Note: for those articles that need Export Permits (those older than 100 years), the obtaining of the Permit will be processed without additional expenses (if you choose the seller sends it to you), but the period for the obtention of it may vary from 10 to 35 days.
