About the Item
Round curved snuffbox in 925/1000 sterling silver with translucent fired enamels on guilloché, above and below, and miniature on the lid of a stylised bird, hand painted by the painter Romano Buccioni, in Art Nouveau style, early 20th century. Slight cracking in the enamel on the lid, not very visible and highlighted in the photos. Dimensions diameter cm. 7.8 height cm. 1.8. Weight gr. 121. Designed by Renato Salimbeni in 1960 inspired by models previously made by the Salimbeni Company and manufactured in Florence at the Salimbeni Company headquarters with completely manual execution by artisan artists with a high thickness plate and large reinforcements suitable for withstanding numerous high-fire enamelling firings at approximately 750° < 800° C.
