18th Century Tea Caddy

About the Item

Made in the late 18th century into the early 19th century in the style of Georgian, and made from strong mahogany wood. Clamped together by metal hardware. There was once a key to lock the tea caddy, but there is no key anymore, just the key hole remains. The pattern of the wood is used well to compliment the domed top. When you open the caddy you can see the removable boxes within it for storage, and in the center where a glass jar would be placed to hold lose leaf tea. Golden designs decorate the interior of the caddy. Originally this is made for tea storage, but there are many things that this can be used for. It is truly a beautiful piece with a lot of history.
