About the Item

A fine English satinwood marquetry inlaid tea caddy, the serpentine top inlaid with a floral roundel over a conforming case with a beautifully inlaid oval floral medallion. The interior retains its original fitted foil lined covered compartments. This lovely tea caddy is a good example of the craftsmanship and artistry used by the English in fabricating boxes for their national beverage, tea. Retains its original working key. Provenance: The San Francisco headquarters of a national financial corporation
