During the Georgian period the neoclassical manner became increasingly popular in England, resulting in a style of furniture and accessories now associated with elegant restraint. What could be more refined than this simple fruitwood tea caddy in the shape of a pear? Carved from treen as a novelty, the pear shaped body has a wooden stem and a decorative brass escutcheon.
