Immaculate Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy
About the Item
An immaculate and elegant survivor from 18th century England, this exceptional tortoiseshell tea caddy showcases fine craftsmanship and exquisite materials. The caddy features sterling silver trim where a monogram was never added, silver plated hinges and lock, and intricate bronze mounts including a proud lion finial and beautifully cast feet.
Ivory accents subtly frame the design, and the piece retains its original hand-blown crystal waist cup, a rare and luxurious detail measuring approximately 3.5 inches in diameter and 4 inches high.
No key is present, but the caddy remains in remarkable condition, having been cherished by one family for generations. A striking collector’s piece with rich materials, balanced proportions, and timeless appeal.
