Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Empire Style Three-Light Candelabra

A fine pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver two-light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a plain circular form, in the George I style. Each impressive two-light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two rounded waisted capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted on sunken wells, to tooled decorated circular spreading bases. The filled bases retain the original leatherette covering to the underside. The base of each was made by Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd and the labra were crafted by William Bruford & Son; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the bases are struck with the date letter 'd' and the labra bear 'e'. An exceptional, fine and impressive set of four antique Spanish cast sterling silver candlesticks made in the French Empire style; part of our continental silverware collection. These exceptional antique Spanish cast sterling silver candlesticks have a circular rounded, waisted knopped, tapering form to a circular spreading base, all in the French Empire style. The waisted capitals are embellished with chased overlapping single scrolling leaf designs to the lower portion and retain the original detachable push fit sconces. The capitals surmount an exceptional chased double-sided figural bust decorated knop. The tapering column is encircled with a rounded knop ornamented with a stylized leaf decoration, in addition to a lobed knop to the lower portion. The antique Spanish candlesticks...

A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver chamber candlestick in the George I style; an addition to our Victorian silver candlestick or candelabra collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver Chamberstick (chamber candlestick) has a plain circular form in the George I style. The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border. The plain cylindrical capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce ornamented with a plain applied moulded border. This antique chamberstick is fitted with a stylized Trefid pattern handle, embellished with two contemporary bright cut engraved crests of a squirrel sejant eating a nut to the right of an elephant and castle. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a panelled hexagonal form, in the classic early 18th English style. Each impressive candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support circular baluster shaped capitals surmounting plain hallmarked dished drip pans. Each candelabrum is fitted with three labra conjoined to with a central baluster shaped finial. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used with three lights or as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is embellished with a rounded knop to the lower portion. The hexagonal swept foot incorporates a subtle plain circular sunken well. Each candelabrum does not have a weighted base. These exceptional candelabra were crafted by the renowned London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd. Condition These vintage sterling silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The components have been professionally polished and are in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and part hallmarks to the sleeve of each labra are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of versatile antique Victorian English sterling silver three-light candelabra; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candelabra have a classical square form to a knopped column onto a stepped swept square foot, in the classic English 18th century style. Each impressive three light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms embellished with reed decoration. The branches (labra) support two cylindrical capitals, each encompassed with bands of applied gadroon decoration. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked push fit square sconces, embellished with further gadroon decorated borders to the rims. Each capital of these Victorian candelabra centrepieces surmounts an impressive square drip pan, featuring identical ornamentation to that of the sconces. Each silver candelabrum is fitted with a third detachable central elevated capital. These versatile Victorian candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms are detached, alternatively, the labra may be conjoined to form a five-light candelabrum. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is encompassed with gadroon decoration to the knops. The plain square swept foot incorporates a plain sunken well, and is embellished with gadroon decoration to a plain collet style rim.
