A magnificent, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Danish sterling silver two light Pomegranate pattern candelabra made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent and rare antique Danish cast sterling silver candelabra have a circular bulbous form, in the Pomegranate pattern. The surface of each exceptional example of antique silverware has a subtly planished finish. Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked scrolling arms, supporting two rounded organic-shaped baluster capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. The scrolling arms of each candelabra incorporate magnificent scrolling leaf and bead decoration, all in the Arts and Crafts style. The plain bulbous columns surmount a plain circular foot, accented with a petal decorated border to the junction. The bases of these magnificent cast candelabra are not weighted. The hallmarks struck to the underside and one of arm of each include: Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (these marks were used between 1925-1932) Designer's mark: GI (Georg Jensen) Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling, 925, S (925/1000) Country mark: Denmark Importer's mark: GS (Stockwell & Co (George Stockwell)) Import hallmark: London Import date mark: q (1931) Such examples struck with full London import hallmarks are rare to the market. A fine pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver two-light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a plain circular form, in the George I style. Each impressive two-light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two rounded waisted capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted on sunken wells, to tooled decorated circular spreading bases. The filled bases retain the original leatherette covering to the underside. The base of each was made by Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd and the labra were crafted by William Bruford & Son; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the bases are struck with the date letter 'd' and the labra bear 'e'.
