French Bronze and Marble Two-Armed Candelabrum, 19th Century

About the Item

A wonderful 19th century candelabra in the French Empire style, made of patinated bronze, gilt bronze and marble. The stem represents a woman holding aloft a two-armed torch, the whole resting on a circular cream marble base with a further gilt bronze base. Made in France. The figure is dressed in Grecian form and the two arms of the torch are adjustable and can be swivelled in either direction. This extremely elegant candelabra is in fine condition with small areas of oxidation to the bronze giving it a gorgeous patina overall.
