About the Item
This is a beautiful Louis XVI style piece that is accented with details like acanthus leaves and an urn shaped center. The overall presentation of the candelabra and the green onyx base create a stunning contrast to the dore finish. The arms have scrolls and leaf motifs and the bobeches are designed in a floral tulip shape. The candelabra rests on a spherical body supported on a round base and accommodates five candles. The piece is decorated with an embossed golden lacquered yellow metal cast. The pieces was made in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is 23 inches tall and the base is 9 inches wide and deep. This makes a statement on a mantel or in a formal dining setting on a table.
