Pair of antique monumental cast iron and gilt bronze candelabra French, late 19th Century Height 219cm, width 52cm, depth 52cm This exceptional pair of monumental candelabra is designed in the elegant Neoclassical style. Each candelabrum in the pair features a cast iron body and a gilt bronze candelabrum head. The body of each is formed as a putto standing on a plinth holding aloft a cornucopia, from which issues the candelabrum head. Each putto stands in contrapposto on a plinth adorned with Neoclassical style detailing. The cornucopia held by each supports the gilt bronze candelabrum, which features seven scrolling branches, each adorned with a variety of moulded detailing, such as flutes, scrolls, and acanthus leaves.
