About the Item

A very handsome pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and patinated bronze candelabras. Each three-arm candelabra is raised on a circular Gris St. Anne marble base with an ormolu reeded band. Above is a white Carrara marble column decorated with ormolu bands and swaging draped ormolu chains. Patinated bronze maidens stand atop each base holding up the ormolu foliate stem. Three scrolled ormolu arms, with acanthus leaves and twisted scrolls, end in finely chased ormolu bobeches. At the center is an urn of prosperity with a top berried finial that is joined to each candle cup with ormolu chains.
