About the Item

A beautiful and extremely elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and white Carrara marble candelabras. Each unique four arm candelabra is raised by a circular white Carrara marble base with a fine bottom ormolu fillet and a richly chased fitted wrap berried laurel band below the beautiful lightly curved fluted socle shaped pedestal support. The striking tapered central support is encased by superb foliate designs at the base and displays elegant fluted designs leading upwards. At the center are a lovely ormolu reserve with foliate designs and charming tied ribbons from where the arms branch out below the stunning top white Carrara marble uniquely shaped finial with a fine fluted design and adorned with richly chased swaging floral garlands with ribbons an intricately detailed foliate ormolu top mounts. Each of the four elegantly curved fluted arms displays fine scrolled foliate designs leading to floral bobeches with a lovely wrap around berried laurel band and fluted foliate candle cups.
