Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Four-Arm Candelabras

About the Item

A sensational and extremely high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and green Porphyry, four arm candelabras. Each large scale candelabra is raised by a square ormolu base with an elegant central Fleur de Lys and delicate stars at each side, with a mottled border. The socle pedestal displays a fine wrap around laurel band and beautiful palmettes. The rare and most decorative green Porphyry body displays exceptional scrolled foliate ormolu handles leading up each side and intricately chased, finely detailed grape leaves on a vine with lovely grapes. At the rim are richly chased foliate designs, a beaded band and striking Coeur de Rai band. The arms above display stunning flowers and detailed leaves seemingly growing out of the urn. Each arm displays superb foliate candle cups. Wonderful proportions and attention to detail.
