Holey Tower, Sculptured Candle Holder from Reclaimed Burned Wood and Limestone

About the Item

Collectible design, sculptured candle holder, unique object is made from repurposed beam wood and leftover white limestone. It is a unique sculptured furniture, I fire burned the wood with Yakisugi treatment. It is finished only with natural oils and beewax. Creating new objects from these materials are the real challenge and joy. This sculptural candle holder is designed and hand carved by Gabor Gobi. Exploring the possibilities and limits of the repurposed materials, are a way forward for a sustainable life. It is a unique sculptured furniture, I fire burned the wood with Japanese technique Yakisugi to seal the wood. It is finished only with wood oil. The bottom of the candle holder has a thin cork, to protect your furniture from scratches. The candle sconce is part of the Melting Collection. Objects in this collection draws attention to the accelerated climate change of our globe. Human activities have been the main driver of climate change. Melting icecaps, melting tundra, melting everything is our everyday life today. Melting wood, marble is a call for attention not to forget that we have to act together to save our environment. • Handmade item • Cube dimensions: ca. 18 x 16 x 41 cm (7 x 6.3 x 16 inches) • Weight: ca. 3.4 kg (7.5 lbs).
