About the Item

Beautiful "Orpheus" torchère candle holder by Mathias for the Baccarat Maison, signed by the manufacture and designer. Limited edition of 25 pieces, this one numbered 13. Comes with its certificate. Dimensions in cm ( H x D ) : 41.5 x 16.5 Good condition, minimal chipping around the nails holding the pendants This design was one of the first creations by Mathias with the Baccarat manufacture. Their collaboration started in 1996 and this design was made that same year. As seen on the Baccarat website: "From a "Meeting" to a true love story. Between Baccarat and Mathias, everything began in 1996 with a collection of exceptional objects in a limited edition. A poet and charmer, Mathias quickly developed a trusting relationship with the artisans of the manufacture. A self-taught and eclectic creator, he believes that "nothing is impossible for Baccarat" and, through his creations, invites the glassmakers, cutters, engravers, gilders, and enamelers to unleash their full talent. Driven by the same quest for excellence and innovation, he signed the first Mille Nuits chandeliers in 1999, a name that has since become emblematic of the Baccarat art of living."
