Highly Important Pair of Malachite and Ormolu Torchere by Thomire. With round black marble on top with egg-and-dart moulding; acanthus-sheathed columnar upright, on an incurved tripartite base, the angles cast with cherubs trailing bellflowers to acanthus-hipped paw-cast feet, the top of the triangular base stamped THOMIRE FECIT and THOMIRE, one further variously stamped E and F. Maker: Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751–1843) Origin: French Date: 19th century Dimension: 57 inches high each
