Âncora Candle Holder in Semi Polished Aluminum Handcrafted in Portugal by Origin
About the Item
Âncora, designed by Christian Haas, is a dinner candleholder in sandcast aluminium. Its dual cavity form enables us to display the candleholder in two ways with a simple rotation. In one position, the height is greater than the other - this allows us to create a beautiful table scape with candles at different heights. Available in pitted semi-polishes finish or raw, the candleholder is both a sculpture to admire and a functional object to make use of.
Material: Aluminium
The natural qualities of the metal could result in variations in color tone and texture. The pieces could present casting marks on the surface, inherent from the handcrafted process, each piece is unique. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns.

The Craftsman
Based in Porto, Paulo Martins and Alberto Cunha share a metal smithing workshop where one takes care of fabrication, spinning and machining while the other polishing. They work with materials such as brass, bronze and copper and combines more than half a century of experience in their trade.
The Designer
Born in Germany in 1974, Christian Haas established his Studio in 2000. The Industrial Designer creates ever since products through multiple disciplines from furniture and lighting to porcelain and glassware. His design approach merges simplicity and elegance. His sense of aesthetics is driven by the harmony between sobriety, usefulness, emotionality, longevity and uniqueness. Throughout the years, his work was honored with awards like the Red Dot Design Award and the Elle Decoration International Design Award. Christian Haas lives and works in Porto, Portugal.
