About the Item
The Poise candle holder is designed to bring light, balance and grace. A subtle statement piece that seemingly allows the light to float, but always holding it solidly in place – a small sculpture in its own right. Poise is sand cast in aluminium with a raw finish and polished flat surfaces, emphasising the qualities of the material.
Material: Aluminium
The natural qualities of the metal could result in variations in color tone and texture. The pieces could present casting marks on the surface, inherent from the handcrafted process, each piece is unique. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns.
Designed by Signe Hytte, made by Augusto Moreira, Paulo Martins and Alberto Cunha.
The Craftsman
Based in Porto, Paulo Martins and Alberto Cunha share a metal smithing workshop where one takes care of fabrication, spinning and machining while the other polishing. They work with materials such as brass, bronze and copper and combines more than half a century of experience in their trade.
The Designer
Based in Copenhagen, Signe Hytte draws inspiration from nature, culture and art with the intent to create objects that tell a story. Every design is an expression of a feeling, a dream, or an idea that has been stripped to its core, leaving only the most essential characteristics behind. Formerly working as Head of Design for Danish furniture brand &tradition, Signe Hytte merges an artistic outlook with a commercial understanding. Apart from product design, she works as a creative consultant.
