Constantin II + III Set of Two Candleholders in Black Oak, Walnut and Brass
About the Item
Constantin is a simple but charming candleholder with a geometric shape. The body of Constantin I is in solid oak painted black shaped with a cross, Constantin III in Canaletto walnut shaped with rhombus. The cylinder in natural brass on the top is the place where to put an 18 mm candle.
In the same collection 3 different models of candlesticks in wood or in marble. A perfect set for a present.
Constantin collection owes its name to its inspirer. It is in fact the modern art of Constantin Brancusi that has guided the designer’s hand to conceive candelabra, bookends, containers and center pieces in wood, marble and brass. Taking up Brancusi ability to represent the essence of things with a high degree of abstraction, designer Agustina Bottoni has shaped the candlesticks and bookends thinking of the columns and bases of Brancusi famous sculptures. For the container and centerpiece she has been inspired instead by the works in which almost raw solid wood is contrasted with polished and mirrored metal.

Agustina Bottoni
Agustina Bottoni is an independent Argentinian designer based in Milan. She works for companies, private clients and self-productions of objects, textiles and furniture. Graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, and after years of working in the fashion industry, she transferred to Milan, graduating with honors of the MA in product design at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. She collaborated with design studios in Italy and the Netherlands before dedicating since 2015 to her independent design practice. Exploring the language of everyday objects, these projects tell stories through a gentle use of shape. Agustina’s multicultural experience influences the research of different materials and techniques. They also encourage an emotional perception, considering objects as companions in our lives. Her works have been exhibited at Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Salone del Mobile, Maison&Objet and others. Since 2016, she is a co-founder of design collective The Ladies’ Room.
