About the Item

A rare and complete suite of English brass candlesticks known collectively as the Royal Family of Diamond Candlesticks, made in England circa the early 1900s. This charmingly titled set comprises four distinctive pairs, each named and sized in royal hierarchy: The King of Diamonds, an imposing pair standing 13 inches tall with 4.5-inch bases; the Diamond Prince, measuring 11.75 inches high on 4.5-inch bases; the Queen of Diamonds, slightly more slender at 11 inches high with 4-inch bases; and the graceful Diamond Princess, standing 10.75 inches on 3.75-inch bases. Each features the bold, faceted “diamond” knop motif at the center, lending the set a unified sculptural elegance. All eight candlesticks retain their original push-up mechanisms in working condition—a rare survival that enhances their functional and collectible appeal. The surfaces display a rich, varied patina consistent with age and use, with the option to polish if a brighter presentation is preferred. Seldom found as a full-named ensemble, this suite presents a unique opportunity for collectors or decorators seeking a dramatic, historic statement in solid English brass. Equally suited for formal interiors or eclectic table settings, this set blends whimsy with craftsmanship in royal proportions.
