Swedish Mid Century 1950s Brass 6 Arm Candlestick, made by designer Gunnar Ander for Ystad-Metall. Brass with black lacquered details.
A candlestick made in 1950s Sweden for classic Swedish metalworking design company Ystad-Metall. Features a series of six candleholders arranged in an asymmetrical but harmonious manner. The slender stems of the candleholders are in black lacquered metal and all seem to emanate in a curved manner from the base only to emerge straightened, holding the candleholders in brass. The individual candleholders feature an elegant, almost fluted, design, recalling the natural world in a modern way. The candleholders feature a refined solution to wax floating down, by way of collecting the melted wax within the cup.
