About the Item
A stunning and exceptional pair German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) pewter floriform candlesticks by renowned makers Orivit and dating from around 1900. The candlesticks, made in Cologne, Germany stand raised a large domed root work pierced bases extending up a tall narrow stem and forming leaf shapes conjoined to form a circular wax drip tray to the top with a central candle holder. Both have a wonderful natural aged and unpolished patina and are both marked to bases with ORIVIT and number 2284. Stunning display pieces and wonderful examples of the Jugendstil period in incredible original unpolished condition.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market
In excellent condition with light wear associated with age and use and with a wonderful unpolished patina.
