About the Item

This elegant pair of candelabras exemplifies the grandeur and refined aesthetic of the Napoleon III period in France. The candelabras showcase a harmonious blend of classical influences and contemporary craftsmanship, characteristic of this era. Design Highlights: Figureal Sculpture: Each candelabra is surmounted by a bronze figure, likely representing a young boy or putto. The figures are delicately modeled, adding a touch of playfulness and elegance to the design. Ornate Bronzework: The candelabras are lavishly embellished with ormolu mounts, featuring finely cast and chiseled details. The design incorporates scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and possibly mythological figures, creating a sense of opulence and dynamism. Floral Elements: The incorporation of stylized flowers, likely roses, adds a touch of natural beauty and elegance to the design. Malachite Bases: The candelabras rest on substantial bases crafted from malachite, a semi-precious stone known for its deep green color and intricate veining. The malachite bases add a luxurious touch and complement the bronzework beautifully. Style and Period: The design elements, including the figureal sculptures, the use of malachite, and the ornate bronzework, are indicative of the Napoleon III style. This period, spanning from 1852 to 1870, saw a revival of interest in classical forms and a focus on luxury and grandeur. The style was heavily influenced by the military achievements of Napoleon III and the opulence of the court. Overall Impression: This pair of candelabras is a captivating set that would make a stunning addition to any grand salon or library. They represent a sophisticated blend of artistry and craftsmanship, reflecting the opulence and refinement of the Napoleon III era.

Ormolu and Patina Bronez Candelabras
Located in Warsaw, PL
These are a pair of gilded candelabras inspired by the Louis XVI style-a style originating from France. The main shaft of the candelabras are constructed from female statues. Unlike the rest of the gilded parts of the candelabra, the women are made from patinated bronze and seems to be standing on one leg while holding up the candelabras’ arms, representing the intense vitality and brilliant beauty of women. At the feet of two young women holding lamps are soft and flexible waves, exuding strength and health, honoring the beauty of the young woman. By taking a closer look you will see that there are five arms radiating in all directions. In Western culture, the number 5 symbolizes origin, adaptability, adventure, love of freedom and diversity. The lamp base is constructed with a quadrilateral support with Acanthus inspired feet, which are classic motifs and delicately sculpted leaves. The combination of gold and bronze creates the subtle and rich tone to it, giving it true antique touch...
