Pair of Mid-Century Modernist Scroll Form Ceramic Candle Holders by Marius Giuge

About the Item

This pair of Mid Century Modernist candle holders were created by Marius Giuge for Vallauris originate from France C. 1960. Composed in three primary scroll form elements forming the body of the candleholders, they create lovely open forms and dynamic shapes from a variety of viewing angles. Glazed in a volcanic drip of white and raw umber, the materiality of the ceramic drip, swirl, and blend to create an elegant and dynamic highly textured surface. Seamless in form and function, these candle holders contain the heat and energy of the flames they'll support, an elegant and sophisticated addition to a wide array of interiors and design movements. Stamped signatures on the undersurface. In Excellent Vintage Condition. France, Circa 1960 Dimensions: Height: 14.5" x Diameter: 8"
