Pair of Late 18th Century Louis XVI Cassolettes Candleholders

About the Item

A fine pair of Louis XVI white marble and gilt bronze cassolettes in the form of atheniennes. Each with a domed and pierced cover to reveal the candleholder, the egg ovoid shaped white marble body with ormolu chain swags and supported by three hoove feet, on a stepped circular plinth with beaded edge.
