French Grande Sonnerie Pendule D'officier Alarm Clock, Le Roi, 18th Century

About the Item

A fine French ormolu grande sonnerie pendule d'officier with alarm, Le Roi & Fils, late 18th century. The ormolu case profusely decorated with floral swag friezes and oval floral mounts to the sides, entwined serpent handle, on four paw feet. The white enamel Arabic convex dial with black and gilt hands, alarm-setting hand, signed Le Roi & Fils, with red silk-backed fret panel to the rear door. The grande sonnerie movement with pull trip repeat and pull wind alarm on two bells, with sonnerie adjustment lever to the underside. Height 10 inches including handle.
