Philipp Happacher became master clockmaker in 1818 and died in 1843. He was a maker of repute and is known to have made precision regulators, table clocks, wall regulators and like this clock, travel clocks. Jurgen Abeler, Meister der Uhrmacherkunst, pp. 218.
