About the Item
A Georgian Chippendale mahogany tall case clock, probably 18th century English, with carved swan neck broken pediment, around a single central brass ball finial with spire, fluted columns flanking the brass Roman numeral dial with matted center, face inscribed "Ralph Sherratt Tilley," ringed winding holes, pierced spandrels and calendar aperture, shaped full-length waist door and engaged fluted quarter-columns, above the applied panel base, all resting on ogee bracket feet, brass eight-day movement and hour-strike mechanism. Excellent restored working condition.
