Early 19th Century Longcase Clock Dial Face on Custom Stand
About the Item
Found in Cornwall, England circa 1830, this lovely antique iron clock dial has been given a new lease on life. The original enamel features hand-painted Roman numerals, fruit-filled cornucopias, and floral details. Once affixed to a longcase clock, the original calendar movement of the clock is still intact. Craquelure and minor rust are present, as consistent with the clock dial's age and use.
Resting atop a custom iron stand, the one-time utilitarian piece of the past has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind piece of art and is the perfect decorative item for your bookshelf or mantel.
The custom iron stand measures approximately 5” W x 4 1/2” D x 11” H. Overall, the clock face and stand measure approximately 12 1/8” W x 4 1/4” D x 14 1/2” H.
