George III mahogany 8 day longcase clock - Benjamin Peers, Chester - arched hood swan neck pediment and finial, the 13 inch painted dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, seconds dial, date aperture, hand painted celestial mood dial and hand painted stylised floral spandrels - 20"w x 11"d x 91"h - Benjamin Peers was granted Freedom of the City in 1784. He is recorded at various addresses but was probably working in Bridge Street or Eastgate Street at the time this clock was made.
