About the Item

A splendid Empire walnut veneered tall clock with swan’s neck split pediment crest with bullseye rosettes and three wooden ball & spire finials surmounting an arched front glass door, flanked by two front delicate turned corner columns, opening to a hand painted Arabic numeral dial signed “Isaac Pearson, Reading” with peach spandrels and moon phase with light overall craquelure. The rare Empire or Classical case was made by Jacob Kunsman circa 1845, with a copy of a very similar case attached on the interior of the waist door. The waist features a raised panel door flanked by half columns over a graduated base with square raised panel, all supported by small ball feet. The 8-day brass movement is in good working condition, and the case is in very good overall condition, with minimal imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use. The clock face has been professionally conserved. Includes pendulum bob and two lead weights. Dimensions: 99.5 in H x 20 in W x 11.25 in D.
