An Egyptian Revival Black Marble Clock
Circa 1860s made by the renowned clock and jewellery makers Hamilton and Inches of Edinburgh with Royal warrant granted by Queen Victoria in 1893 .
Featuring a stunning black marble case engraved with Egyptian hieroglyphics the clock is adorned with beautiful Egyptian bronze mounts and topped by a bronze statue of Lamassu , creating a truly clock .
This clock, made in the 1860s, would have been among the earliest items sold by Hamilton and Inches, thereby enhancing its historical significance.
Hamilton and Inches of Edinburgh still exist today and has been serving customers for over 150 years. Established in 1866, this esteemed establishment is known for its exceptional craftsmanship, elegant designs .
