19th century Gilt Bronze and Porcelain Clock by "Miroy Frères"

About the Item

This exquisite 19th-century gilt bronze and porcelain clock is a stunning example of French decorative arts. The clock features a charming cherub figure, complete with expressive face and intricately sculpted wings, holding an arrow. The white enamel dial with black Roman numerals is framed by a delicately chased circle. The base is adorned with a vibrant blue porcelain frieze decorated with multicolored floral motifs and gilded relief elements. The porcelain plate is signed "Miroy Girardon" on its back. The Cherub sculpture and the clock  rest on a richly carved giltwood base, enhancing its opulent character. The overall composition is characterized by the sinuous lines of the Rococo style, with asymmetrical curves and ornate embellishments.  This piece is sold as a decorative object, as the movement has not been serviced. It is missing the clock's protective glass, as well as the glass or bronze protective cover for the clockwork.
