Early 19th Century Marble Clock Cupid Reading by Ledure and Hémon

About the Item

Early 19th century Restauration-period green vert-de-mer marble clock with gilt bronze decoration. The clock is topped by a Cupid reading in patinated bronze. The ormolu face marks the hours in Roman numerals and is decorated with scrolls and foliage. The dial is signed: Ledure BRONZIER Hémon Her (partially erased but legible). Signed in the back: HEMON A PARIS. Cast by Ledure and Hémon clockmaker. circa 1830 Dimension: W 10.2 in x D 5.9 in x H 22 in. Dimension: L 26 cm x P 15 cm x H 56 cm.
