French Lemire Bronze Cherub Sculpture-L.Marti Et Cíe Black Marble Mantel Clock

About the Item

This is a French figural patinated bronze sculpture mantel clock of a winged Cherub hunter by Lemire Charles Gabriel Sauvage. The thirsty Cherub is seated over a large rock with some foliages drinking water from a seashell. He is semi nude and a drape covers him from below one side of his hip. A bow and a quiver with some arrows are resting beside him. The sculpture is signed Lemire in the base. It stands over an oval bronze base that is attached to an elegant and simple carved oval heavy black marble pedestal that encased the clock. The round white dial case have black Roman numerals and clock hands. The clock has written in the back- Medaille de Bronze, L. Marti Et Cie. The clock come with a key to wind it up. In the back, there is a round glass brass bordered lid to access the clock machinery. The clock is working well.
