French white marble ‘Pendule D’Officier’ style mantel clock standing on turned toupie feet with applied ormolu mounts with stepped break arch pediment surmounted by a gilded laurel wreath and ornate carrying handle. Enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and gilded hands. Eight day French movement with lever escapement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell, circa 1860.

Enamel dial with floral decoration, Arabic numerals and original gilded hands signed ‘Comptoir General, J.Pratt, Paris, 9 Bd Poissonnies’. French eight day movement with outside countwheel and anchor escapement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell marked for Samuel Marti. C.1880 The clock was retailed by Le Comptoir General a prestigious decorative and fine art store in France.
