French eight day movement with outside countwheel and anchor escapement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell marked for Samuel Marti. C.1880 The clock was retailed by Le Comptoir General a prestigious decorative and fine art store in France. At this time the Comptoir General was represented by J.Pratt who was located at 9, Boulvard Poissonnies. ‘Samuel Marti & Cie’ were well known French clockmakers working from their premises at Le Pays De Montbeliard Paris from just before 1860.
