Porcelain, champlevé enamel, and gilt-bronze Rococo style three-piece clock set

About the Item

Porcelain, champlevé enamel, and gilt-bronze Rococo style three-piece clock set French, Late 19th Century Clock: height 38cm, width 23cm, depth 16cm Vases: height 28cm, width 13cm, depth 10cm This excellent three-piece set consists of a central clock, flanked by a pair of similarly decorated vases, all of which are adorned with porcelain, champlevé enamel, and gilt bronze. Made in late nineteenth century France, it demonstrates an array of superb decorative crafts, combining to create a very fine display suite. The clock consists of a round porcelain dial, painted with winged putti, below which hangs a pendulum. The case features panels made from painted porcelain and glass on each side, decorated with whimsical Rococo genre scenes. To the very top there is a two-handled urn, which is mounted with globe. Trios of gilt finials in the form of flower baskets surmount the case's columns. The vases to either side are very similarly adorned, and the porcelain is signed 'Lefranc.'
