French 18th Century Louis XV Period Ormolu Clock



A magnificent and very high quality French 18th century Louis XV period ormolu clock. At the base is a scene of two maidens draped in flowing garments holding finely detailed floral garlands, centered by an impressive bull. Above is the enamel dial encased within richly chased ormolu foliate movements. Seated atop is another maiden gazing down on the other figures while holding a bouquet of flowers. All original gilt throughout.
